About Kevin Keys III

Hailing from the vibrant city of Detroit, Michigan, Kevin Keys has been imbued with an innate passion for service, coupled with an unyielding dedication to championing justice and equality from a tender age. His formative years were spent under the nurturing guidance of discerning parents who recognized his latent potential. Within the nurturing confines of the Oak Park School District, Kevin cultivated his leadership acumen and found an active role within various youth collectives and associations. During his high school tenure, one of Kevin's crowning accomplishments was the co-founding of Young People 4 Change—a dynamic organization committed to eradicating victimization in all its guises. With an unwavering resolve, Kevin led initiatives advocating for education, voting rights, women's rights, and justice, particularly in the face of police brutality within his cherished hometown of Detroit. Now standing at the age of 21, Kevin's journey led him to Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama, where he earned a degree in Political Science. He is presently enrolled at Texas Southern University, he is poised to obtain a Masters of Education in Educational Administration with a specialized focus on higher education Human Resources. Despite his youthful years, Kevin's tenacity has propelled him to remarkable achievements on his HBCU campus, evidenced by his multifaceted roles within the Miles College Student Government Association and his proud affiliation with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated. Kevin's exceptional leadership and unflagging commitment have garnered the recognition of notable figures and revered institutions. Esteemed individuals like activist and acclaimed rapper-actor David Banner, along with globally renowned nonprofits such as Build On, have lauded Kevin's contributions. As the elected Regional 2nd Vice Director for the Southern Region of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., and President of the Miles College chapter of the NAACP, Kevin continues to leave an indelible mark. He also co-host the Campus Rundown with Historically Black Since every Tuesday night at 8/7c, thereby amplifying the voices of his community. Currently, Kevin stands as a formidable candidate for Michigan State Representative in district 5, poised to further his mission of effecting positive change.
